The Archbishop of Moosonee is accepting applications for a full time shared cleric position with an Indigenous Diocesan focus and local parish presence. The Indigenous candidate will be located in a community which currently receives periodic sacramental ministry. He or she will work to lift up the history, languages, cultures, spiritual traditions, ceremonies and ways of decision making of the Cree peoples in that deanery and the James Bay deanery. The candidate will oversee orientation for non-Indigenous clergy serving in Indigenous communities. The candidate will support the ministry of the diocesan Truth and Reconciliation Committee enabling the diocese to make a faithful response to The Calls to Action from Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and to honour the Church‘s Apologies of 1993 and 2019.
